The Northwestern Mutual Data Science Institute (NMDSI) will host “Machine Learning Applications in Macroeconomic Forecasting: Evidence from Inflation and Housing Markets,” as part of our regular virtual speaker series on Thursday, November 6, from 10 – 11 a.m. (CT).

Hear from Dr. N. Kundan Kishor, professor and chair of the Department of Economics at UWM, and an NMDSI affiliated faculty member, about how success in macro forecasting requires machine learning techniques with economic theory and institutional knowledge. Dr. Kishor will explore and highlight hybrid approaches that leverage both computational power and domain expertise to yield optimal results for policymakers and practitioners.

This session will be moderated by Anyon Rettinger, events & special projects manager, NMDSI.
